India, where 65% of total population is youth below 35 is
having its journey towards s developed nation on the shoulders of this 65%
youth. But where this 65% youth are staying? What are these people doing now a
day when country is going through a high turbulent year? Do they form any
political opinion? If they do then what is that? Do they support any single
party or they are separated among themselves in the name of cast, income and color
like old days? A series of question are there and all arte yet to be answered.
Starting from Anna andolan through Niravya, through general
and Delhi election and now through Kanhaiya issue, they have shown instances
that they are watching all closely. They are observing every aspect what the
politician do or promise to do. They discuss the same on social pages, they
argue over that, they like, and dislike. Their participation does not stop
here. They even don’t fear to scold each other, threatening each other, and
using slang are getting normal now a day. These are trends running. But they
are not realizing that are becoming more of a fan than a critic or an observer.
And that is alarming for democracy. If democracy needs to sustain then it will
sustain through argument, debate and presentation of facts and fixing of accountability
by questioning govt. Not only govt, they should rate opposition too, whether what they are doing in the parliament for the sake of public benefit or for their own. There is always
room for active discussion and organized debate. But from where the liberty has
came to scold or threaten someone. This is not going to help democracy. If you
don’t accept someone’s ideology then put an argument. Who stops you? But how
logical and patriotic it is to call someone unpatriotic just because he is not
supporting your ideology? It seems like this youth age has decided to be a fan
or may be it has found that being a fan and doing gaga over everything is
relatively easy than to stand up and oppose.
Facts also represent the same. Only 5% of youth has active participation
in politics. I just want to ask you that, how a country is going to be young
when there will approximately no participation in active politics from youth. Then
who will represent the perspective of youth’s? This is not about politics
paralysis only. This youth has created a new way of discrimination too.
Discrimination on the basis of tax. Till now we have been fighting against cast
based discrimination and every time we fight we pop up as a weaker group. But
still then we have given rise to discrimination. I have been reading a lot of
whatsapp messages and facebook post regarding it. All these kind of messages
have a same appeal suppose for example students studying in IIT and JNU are
studying in our money as a lot of amount is sanctioned to them every year but
they are leaving India and doing g jobs in foreign countries. So stop funding
them or something like that to give them a taste of social boycott. Is it our patriotism?
Is this how we will call ourselves as nationalist? Of course not. We have a
greater vision and we youth as a main contributing factor should act like a main
contributing factor, not by spreading this kind of pseudo nationalism but by
fixing accountability. So don’t be a fan of any political party. Be their critic,
discuss their agenda and economic prospective. The day this 65% YOUTH will
become fan of party of their own choice they will lose the analytic mind of
being a critic. They will start defending even the wrong doings. And then scolding and threatening will be
only sober language that will exist. So don’t wait for that day for the end of
democracy. Be a change. Leave your political loyalty and speak against every
wrong doing. If you won’t speak for it now your boundary may be curtailed.
